The Creative Coast will present Geekend 2014, the groundbreaking interactive conference bringing together cutting-edge tech and creative visionaries for three days of stimulating speakers, panels, workshops and networking, November 13 – 15 at locations throughout Savannah, Georgia.

“Geekend is the chance to interact with people taking the tech and creative industries by storm,” says Bea Wray, Executive Director of The Creative Coast. “All these innovators, full of ideas and passion, in one space – the energy is practically combustible.  Put hundreds of geeks together and anything can happen!

“We’re celebrating the 5th year of Geekend with an extraordinary lineup of nationally-respected speakers, provocative topics that will keep people talking long after the event is wrapped up and some great – and fun – opportunities for participants to connect and exchange ideas.”

Geekend 2014 will bring together the brightest designers, coders, innovators, software and web developers, IT specialists, makers, bloggers, video game developers, technology mavericks and forward-thinking entrepreneurs for what past participants have called “a pressure cooker of inspiration” and “a mash up, a meet up and a tweet up, all mixed together in a delicious Low Country boil of innovative ideas.”  Thousands of self-proclaimed geeks from all over the world have come to Geekend in Savannah since its founding in 2009. 

Confirmed speakers include Grace Belangia, Community Development Strategist,theClubhou.se; Greg Foster, Co-founder, CEO and Chairman, BrightWhistle; Kevin Lawver, President, Rails Machine; Brian Maddox, Creative Director, NewCity;  Eric Parker, Innovation Architect, CONima Architects;  Erik Ragan, Co-founder, Director of Focus Lab; Cliff Seal, UX Designer, Pardot; Chad Vander Veen, Editor, FutureStructure.  Additional speakers will soon be announced.

Early Bird registration to Geekend 2014 is $125 on or before August 13, including access to speakers and workshops, lunches and admission to all receptions.  Registration after August 13 is $225.

Creative Coast supporters will receive an additional 20% discount off their registration fee and an invitation to the Supporter-only sneak peek of the Creators’ Foundry on August 19.
