The Savannah VOICE Festival promises to deliver chills down the spine during the heat of Summer as the Festival presents a recital which was first performed last Halloween at New York’s famous Carnegie Hall.

Starring the Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano and her piano virtuoso husband Christopher Cano, the recital will be performed in the English language at 6.30pm on Saturday August 2nd 2014 at Christ Church, 28 Bull Street on Johnson Square in downtown Savannah.

This critically acclaimed recital of Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Vaughn Williams, Britten and other composers will be in Savannah for one night only and takes place during the first weekend of the second annual Festival which runs from August 1st – 17th 2014.  Tickets for the recital are priced at $43 and the event is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Michael T. Owens.

Maria Zouves, Executive Director of the Savannah VOICE Festival said “We are thrilled to welcome the caliber of artists such as the Cano’s to Savannah.  They were keen to perform in the evocative atmosphere of Christ Church, which was founded in 1733 with the third and existing church building consecrated in 1840.  We are very fortunate that the Savannah VOICE Festival is hosted by so many wonderful venues in and around the city”.
