Sustainativity, the Savannah-based 501c3 non-profit organization, dedicated to direct philanthropic investments in sustainability, is announcing a very unique fundraiser to benefit the green retrofit of Historic Savannah Foundation’s offices. 

On Sunday, September 28th,2014- the inaugural Mattress Dash will come to Savannah and the south end of Forsyth Park will be turned into a rip-roaringly good time, as costumed teams of five race mattresses at for a 150-meter dash, mono a mono for awards, prizes and to benefit a great cause.

In order to participate teams must build a racing frame capable of holding a single mattress and one rider, while being pushed by the other four team members. Teams can sign up and check out all information on building the race frame, rules and regulations at: www.mattressdash.org 

“I want to show that sustainability can be fun and as well add to the goals of Sustainativity by inspiring people to use their creativity for improving our environment”, said Tommy Linstroth CEO of Trident Sustainability Group and the driving force behind Mattress Dash.

The races will start at 1 PM. After the race participants are encouraged to celebrate and showcase their creative designs to the public and spectators. With Costumes and themed rides highly encouraged this is going to be one of the most anticipated new events in Savannah.

Prizes and awards will be handed out in categories: Fastest Team, Greenest Racing Frame, Judge's Choice and People's Choice.
