The Ocean Exchange is pleased to introduce the two winners of the Ocean Exchange 2014 awards. Each award includes a $100,000 prize from worldwide sponsors Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL).

"Many congratulations to Tony Frudakis, winner of this year's Gulfstream Navigator award," said Joe Lombardo, executive vice president, Aerospace Group, General Dynamics, parent company of Gulfstream Aerospace. "'Desalination at the Speed of Light' truly accelerates sustainability through its ability to produce fresh water more efficiently and more quickly than any existing technology. We are excited about the possibilities that this product could bring to ensure a positive future for our environment."

Advancing a commercially viable shipping and logistics solution for increased sustainability through zero-emissions, transport on land and at sea, the WWL Orcelle® Award of 2014 and $100,000 has been awarded to Deep Green from Minesto AB of Sweden. Deep Green is an innovative solution to generate energy from low velocity water currents.

"Tonight, we honor a worthy recipient and an innovative concept whose ideas and implementation will help take us one step closer to our vision of a zero-emissions future in the field of marine transport and logistics," said Ray Fitzgerald, President of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Americas.

Both solutions reduce the use of nature's resources and waste and increase productivity and economic well being.
