Audi Hilton Head, the premier Savannah area Audi dealer, will be hosting an exclusive preview of the upcoming 2014-15 Savannah Philharmonic season at their dealership in the New River Auto Mall on October 7. This invitation-only event kicks off at 5 p.m. at 137 Auto Mall Blvd. and will feature Savannah Philharmonic Artistic Director and Conductor, Peter Shannon. Shannon will provide details on what the new season has in store for Lowcountry music lovers. Additionally, all those in attendance will have the opportunity to enter to win tickets to the Philharmonic's Berlioz, Bizet & Sibelius concert, October 17.

Some of the highlights of the Savannah Philharmonic’s 2014-15 season include:

- Carmen Suites by Georges Bizet
- Music and songs from Broadway and the movies, with special guest Anthony Kearns, Ireland’s Finest Tenor
- The Creation by Franz Joseph Haydn
- Piano Concerto No. 1 by Johannes Brahms

Shannon will provide valuable insight into these and all of the other programs that are scheduled for the orchestra’s next season.

Shannon began his personal musical odyssey as a choirboy at Cork Cathedral in Ireland. He studied music under the Irish conductor Colman Pearce, and continued his studies in Germany at Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. Shannon has conducted several influential orchestras in Germany, appeared as a guest conductor with the Warsaw Radio Symphony Orchestra as well as the Pecs Symphony Orchestra in Hungary, and has been the featured conductor at many music festivals throughout Norway, Denmark, and Italy.

This year's Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra season runs from September to May, with programs that range from the classics to pops. The community-based ensemble, the Savannah Philharmonic Chorus, appears regularly with the orchestra in oratorio and opera settings, as well as performing a wide range of music including a cappella, Baroque, and pop and rock standards.
