ACA Open Enrollment Kicks Off With Saturday Events in Savannah
Press release from the issuing company
Monday, November 17th, 2014
Memorial Health encourages those without health insurance to “Get Covered, Stay Covered” during the open enrollment period under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Open enrollment begins November 15 and continues through February 15, 2015. J.C. Lewis Primary Health Care Center and Curtis V. Cooper Primary Care Center will hold kick-off events on Saturday, November 15, to provide information on the Health Insurance Marketplace and enrollment assistance.
All Marketplace insurance plans cover physician visits, hospitalizations, pregnancy care, emergency department visits, and prescriptions. Financial help may be available for those who qualify, based on their income. Coverage is available to all U.S. citizens and documented immigrants. Qualifying health plans cannot deny coverage to any individual with a pre-existing condition.
Those who enroll by December 15 will receive coverage beginning January 1, 2015. There are three ways to enroll: by phone (800-318-2596), online at healthcare.gov, or by appointment with an ACA-certified navigator.
On Saturday, J.C. Lewis Primary Health Care Center, located at 125 Fahm Street in Savannah, will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and Curtis V. Cooper Primary Care Center, at 106 East Broad Street in Savannah, will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Their ACA-certified navigators can answer questions and enroll participants on site.
