Press release from the issuing company

Friday, November 14th, 2014

Gentleman Jim’s Sewing Academy, formerly known as the Savannah Sewing Academy, has recently relocated to 7 E. DeRenne Ave. inside of 34 x 37 Fabrics located in the Globe Shopping Plaza.

Over the past three years, Gentleman Jim’s Sewing Academy has served students from the Savannah Community and across the country. The mission of his academy is to train and teach students professional industry methods in tailoring and sewing. Gentleman Jim is committed to that mission! This commitment prompted him to relocate and expand his sewing studio to accommodate more students and offer more services.

“In my 53+ years of being a Master Tailor, I have moved my shop 14 times! I'm hoping this will be my last move.  I'm loving my new space. I enjoyed being on Bull Street, but I needed more room and better parking to accommodate my growing academy,” explains Gentleman Jim.

Gentleman Jim’s Sewing Academy has a 2000 sq. ft. studio equipped with conventional and industry equipment and supplies. This new open floor plan will provide students with a more engaging learning environment, better parking and access to hotels for those traveling students attending his workshops. Being located inside 34 x 37 Fabrics will give students the added benefit of immediate access to top designer fashion fabrics and home décor textiles.

James “Gentleman Jim” McFarland is a classically trained Master Tailor with 53 years of experience.  He teaches individual and group lessons to students of all experience levels in addition to multiple day workshops in which students fly across the country to attend.  Gentleman Jim also has two instructional DVDs - “Basic Alterations” and “Ladies Tailored Pants”.
