Johnathon Barrett of Junior Achievement of Georgia Joins Executive Committee of Georgia Family Connection Partnership

Johnathon Barrett, vice president of statewide operations for Junior Achievement of Georgia(JA), a nonprofit organization helping to bridge the gap between businesses and youth education communities, has been selected to serve on the executive committee of Georgia Family Connection Partnership. 

The Georgia Family Connection Partnership works to bring together more than 3,000 local and state-level organizations to facilitate inter-agency communication, share resources and replicate best practices to help improve the quality of life for families and children across Georgia. 

“I’m honored to have an opportunity to serve such an important collaborative organization in Georgia,” said Johnathon Barrett, vice president of statewide operations for JA of Georgia. “Together, we are all working to provide the best resources available to help our children remain healthy and succeed in school.”

A passionate advocate for children, Barrett has served on the advisory boards of numerous child-centered nonprofit organizations including the Savannah/Chatham Schools Excellence Fund, Second Harvest Kid’s Café, Savannah Book Festival and the Savannah Children’s Choir. He has also served on the advisory boards of Georgia Public Broadcasting Coastal Georgia, Savannah Technical College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), The Georgia Historical Society, The Rotary Club of Savannah, Savannah & Chatham County Humane Society and many other community nonprofit organizations.  

Barrett began his professional career as a certified public accountant and moved into the arena of nonprofit management in the late 1990s. Over the last 11 years, Barrett has worked with JA of Georgia, where he oversees the management of JA districts outside of metro-Atlanta, with offices in Dalton, Gainesville, Augusta, Savannah and Columbus.  He is responsible for program delivery to approximately 40,000 students, and the coordination of services from more than 1,500 corporate and civic volunteers.
