Maritime Bethel at Savannah Announces Sundays on Thursdays Seafarers Worship Series

Press release from the issuing company

Monday, November 17th, 2014

The Maritime Bethel at Savannah announces the first in a series of Sundays on Thursdays Seafarers Worship services which will take place at 6pm on Thursday December 4th 2014 near the port in Garden City at the Fellowship Assembly of God Church.

As the Port of Savannah continues to grow and begins to deepen the ship channel, the Port Ministry has decided to launch this initiative to deepen their commitment to spirituality, traditional values, and ecumenical relations.

To kick off this new initiative on December 4th, the respected preacher will be the Statesboro based Attorney and popular Reverend Francys Johnson who also serves as the Georgia State President of the NAACP.  His sermon will be based around Micah 6’s theme of “Do Justice”.

Everybody is welcome to attend this service but it is especially designed for seafarers and port workers as well as those who work on a Sunday and would like to take this opportunity to worship on a Thursday evening.  The church can accommodate many people and there is plenty of truck parking at the Garden City Plaza next to the church.

Andy Krey, Chaplain and Executive Director of the Maritime Bethel at Savannah comments, “We are thrilled to host the Reverend Francys Johnson and hope that many people based at or around the port or just docked in Savannah for one night will take this opportunity to experience our Sundays on Thursdays Seafarers Worship before the holidays.  We hope to not only deepen our port’s Savannah Ship Channel but also deepen our channel to Almighty God!”
