Wednesday, November 19th, 2014
At today’s Savannah Economic Development Authority board of directors meeting, Quirk Healthcare Solutions announced it has chosen Savannah as its new corporate headquarters. The announcement includes 150 new jobs over the next three years.
Currently located near Miami, Fla. and founded in 2005, Quirk specializes in helping physician organizations thrive in the changing healthcare market. They have operations in the United States, Mexico, Ukraine and India focusing on healthcare, nutrition, fitness and socialization.
Quirk’s headquarters will be located at 516 Drayton Street. The 20,000 square foot center on Forsyth Park will provide primary care consultation and will house a fitness facility, a cafe, and classrooms for health and wellness education. A second location will open in West Chatham with the same amenities. Both are scheduled to open in 2015.
“We considered several cities during our year-long search for a new home. We were looking for a popular destination that will attract thought leaders to visit our flagship facility, and we were also seeking a supportive business community with an interest in improving wellness.” said Quirk CEO Ben Quirk. “We found all of that here in Savannah.”
“Working with Quirk Healthcare Solutions to locate their headquarters here in Savannah is a huge win for our region and we are excited they have chosen to call Savannah home,” said Trip Tollison, SEDA President and CEO. “Investing in our community and bringing 150 jobs to Savannah will have a significant impact on our community.”
Quirk will work with Savannah area employers that want healthier employees, and with healthcare providers who value the enhanced services Quirk will deliver. This shared savings model, known as a Commercial Accountable Care Organization, also has financial benefits. The wellness centers will deliver and manage high-quality care, providing short and long-term financial savings to employers.
“We enter into a shared savings model with employers, where the vast majority of our income is dependent on showing results clinically and financially,” Quirk explained. “What is unusual about our approach is we are not statisticians working in an ivory tower, but rather we utilize human-to-human interaction through our wellness centers to engage employees in improving their nutrition, fitness, socialization, and healthcare.”
