Telfair Museums has been recognized with three awards for publication designs at the Annual Southeastern Museum Conference (SEMC) Publication Competition. Telfair Museums won Best of Show for Spanish Sojourns: Robert Henri and the Spirit of Spain and won Gold for both Spanish Sojourns and Telfair Art Fair

These eye-catching publications were inspired by the exhibit, Spanish Sojourns: Robert Henri and the Spirit of Spain. Organized by Telfair Museums, Spanish Sojourns traveled to the San Diego Museum of Art and currently is on display at the Mississippi Museum of Art. The exhibition was dedicated to the Spanish paintings of Robert Henri (1865-1929), one of the most influential American artists of the early 20th century.

Telfair Art Fair is a popular southern open air event that attracts thousands of high-end art collectors, tourists, area residents and families each year. The theme, in which all the in-house publications were based on, was Spanish Sojourns

Materials for each campaign were created by Holly Akkerman, Telfair Museums’ creative director. Honored to be recognized for her originality and for designing multi-faceted design campaigns, Akkerman says, “It’s exciting to see the culmination of these projects being acknowledged regionally in the museum and artistic community.”
