Georgia Tech-Savannah to Launch Mobile App Development Course

WHAT: Georgia Tech-Savannah Mobile App Course. This new four-day course from Georgia Tech Professional Education will teach mobile application development and business skills designed to keep technical professionals, programmers and computer hobbyists on the cutting edge of the ever-changing digital environment. Using iOS and Apple’s new programming language, Swift, students will be educated in a range of digital techniques and principles that can be applied to a variety of industries including telecommunications, engineering, logistics, manufacturing, sales, government agencies and consumer products companies.

WHO: Russell Clark, a senior research scientist in Georgia Tech’s School of ComputerScience, engages hundreds of students each semester in mobile development and emphasizes innovation, entrepreneurship and industry involvement. He is the associate director of the Georgia Tech Research Network Operations Center, an enabling center involved in numerous research efforts across campus. He is also a principal leader of the Convergence Innovation Competition, a student research competition that works with industry sponsors to support student innovation and entrepreneurship. His teaching and research is primarily focused in the areas of networking, network management and mobile applications and services. Clark earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computer science from Vanderbilt University, and master’s and doctorate degrees in information and computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
