Sustainativity Inc., the nonprofit company, founded by Tommy Linstroth, CEO of Green Badger and Principal of Trident Sustainability Group, has just joined up with “1% for the Planet” to make even more of a difference by donating to sustainable causes. http://onepercentfortheplanet.org/
Sustainativity has been active in Savannah, GA, since 2013, to help other nonprofits become more sustainable.
With their first project, raising money for America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, an organization that provides food to low-income families throughout the coastal Georgia, Sustainativity was able to retrofit all of the lighting in the Second Harvest building in order to make the lighting system more energy efficient and cutting down on electricity costs every year. The saved funds will go into added meals for deserving residents.
Sustainativity also just completed their first ever Mattress Dash in Savannah’s Forsyth Park in September; Profits from this event benefitting the Historic Savanah Foundations headquarter energy efficient retro fit.
All of Sustainativity’s income and donations are invested back into the Savannah and Low Country community in a variety of sustainable ways.
Partnering with 1% for the Planet will make Sustainativity eligible to receive donations from members of the 1% for the Planet network. The 1% for the Planet family stretches all over the globe and has 1,200 member companies in 48 countries, all which give 1% of their revenues to supporting environmental causes. In 2013, 1% for the Planet was able to five over 20 million dollars to their nonprofit members. By partnering with 1% for the Planet, Sustainativity will be able to fuel even more contributions into the community by receiving a larger donation base to go along with their company efforts as well.
“We at Sustainativity are incredibly thankful for this opportunity to partner with 1% for the Planet. Any donation that we will receive through this network can be used to impact our community in a big way. Giving back in the most environmentally friendly way is the ultimate goal of Sustainativity and we look forward to making as much of an impact as we can.” Tommy Linstroth didn’t stop there with his excitement, and wanted to give reason for companies to donate to his organization. “We plan to keep helping the places that are helping our people and our planet. If we can continue to provide more sustainable practices to other nonprofits along with establishing more ways to give back to the planet and community, such as through community gardens, we think that we can really make a difference. We want to make the biggest impact we can in the Savannah community, and then ultimately make an impact anywhere that we can.”
