The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce and Visit Savannah has hired Casey Jones to fill the newly created role of content marketing manager. The position was created in the marketing and communications department to address new opportunities as tourism marketing efforts grow.
Due to increased popularity and demand for video and photo content on social media channels like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Visit Savannah is adding this new position to stay ahead of this important and growing marketing trend. Jones had been engaged with the organization in a contract role since July and will move into the full-time role as of Dec. 1.
“Adding Casey to our team allows us to enhance and further develop our content marketing initiatives,” said Jeremy Harvey, Visit Savannah vice president of communications and marketing. “His previous work for us in social media, combined with his marketing and communications background, will bring much added value to the work of all of our organizations.”
Jones will be supporting Visit Savannah, the Savannah Area Chamber and Visit Tybee in this new role. His primary focus will be on content development through photography, videography, social media and writing. He will also work in support of various marketing initiatives across the three organizations.
“Without a doubt, Savannah is one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S., and I am so excited to join the extremely talented team at Visit Savannah,” said Jones. “I love this city and its people, and now with Visit Savannah, I will be able to use my passion for photography, videography and writing to showcase all that this city has to offer.”
