The Savannah Small Business Development Center (SBDC), a Public Service and Outreach Unit of the University of Georgia and HunterMaclean Attorneys will offer a breakfast and learn seminar on Wednesday, January 14 at the HunterMaclean offices at 200 East Saint Julian Street downtown. Breakfast and networking will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the program will run from 8:00 to 9:00. There is no charge to attend, but registration is required.
The SBDC and HunterMaclean have scheduled their upcoming Answers Over Easy breakfast and learn program Legal Checklist for Success as You Grow Your Business to help businesses get ready for the new year. This program is for new business owners and managers as well as for leaders of more established businesses ready to move their organizations forward to even greater success.
Participants will learn about agreements that every business owner should have or consider putting into place, including shareholder and operating agreements, supplier and other third-party agreements, and employment agreements. The seminar will review the benefits of and distinctions between types of business entities, antitrust considerations, and protecting sensitive company information.
Even the best-run companies may face litigation, and the program will briefly cover what to do when disputes arise, and how to best guard against liability in the first place.
Presenter Dave Burkoff is a litigator with broad experience helping businesses anticipate, litigate, and resolve disputes.
To register for this free seminar, visit www.savannahsbdc.org or call 912-651-3200. Some parking is available on a first come, first served basis.
