J.C. Lewis Primary Health Care Offers Family Planning Services, Welcomes Dr. Jackson

J.C. Lewis Primary Health Care Center, a nonprofit organization providing affordable health care services to individuals in the Savannah community, is pleased to announce that J.C. Lewis recently received the Title X Family Planning Services Grant and is now offering high quality and cost-effective family planning and related preventive health services for women and men.  

In addition, J.C. Lewis hired Lisa C. Jackson, OB-GYN, to oversee the direct care of all family planning patients who will now have access to a broad range of FDA-approved contraceptive methods and related counseling; as well as breast and cervical cancer screenings; prenatal care and counseling; screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs); HIV testing and more.

Prior to joining J.C. Lewis Primary Health Care Center, Dr. Jackson was the OB-GYN unit supervisor and staff physician at the Family Health Center in Orangeburg, S.C. She also practiced at Chicago Metropolitan in Harvey, Ill., and the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Chicago, Ill. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga., and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Ill. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrician/Gynecologist (ABOG) and was awarded Resident of the Year in 2004 from Cook County Hospital.
