During the recent Community Impact Night awards presentation, Lisa Dean, Senior Relationship Manager for Synovus Trust in our Sea Island Bank office, was awarded the Ronald McDonald House Charity George Flanagan Hero Award and Synovus received a Community Impact Award.
Lisa has been with Synovus for seven years and her passion for service was recognized by the Executive Director and staff of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Coastal Empire, where she has volunteered for the past seven years and served three years as board president.
The George Flanagan RMHC Hero Award “honors a Child and Family Advocate who has made great contributions to improving the Quality of Life for Children in the Coastal Empire. The award is specific to the organization/individual in their works involving and benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire and those critically ill children and their families who are served.” Named for George Flanagan, a 97-year-old volunteer and long-time benefactor of RMHC in the Coastal Empire Region who Lisa introduced to RHMC years ago, this is the first year the award has been presented.
Lisa was completely surprised after the award was presented to Mr. Flanagan to learn she was a co-recipient. There was not a dry eye in the house when Lisa’s name was announced and she and George hugged.
Here’s to you, Lisa, for making such a positive difference in the lives of the critically ill children and their families who rely on the Ronald McDonald House for support during trying times.
