The Georgia Department of Labor will host a recruitment this week in Savannah to help a staffing company, MCS Recruitment, hire about 80 workers for nine companies in the area. 

The recruitment will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the GDOL’s Savannah Career Center, 5520 White Bluff Road. 

The staffing company is hiring for a wide variety of positions, including accountants, carpenters, construction and warehouse workers, design engineers, electricians and helpers, forklift operators, strategic buyers, and welders. 

Also, the company is recruiting drivers with commercial drivers licenses, machinists with computer numeric controlled certification, programmers with programmable logic controller certification, and quality control inspectors and engineers.   

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma, or a General Education Diploma, and at least one year of experience in the position they are applying for. Veterans are encouraged to apply. 

Salaries range from $60,000 to $85,000 annually for design engineers and some other positions, while warehouse workers, CDL drivers, and forklift operators earn $12 to $16 an hour, depending on experience.  

The company will conduct background checks and drug-screening tests on selected applicants.
