The Georgia Department of Labor will host recruitments next week in Savannah to help two companies hire about 120 workers. Both recruitments will be held at the GDOL’s Savannah Career Center, 5520 White Bluff Road. 

On Monday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., GDOL will help General Dollar recruit about 40 workers for three stores in the area. The company is recruiting store managers, store-manager trainees, assistant managers, sales associates, stock clerks, and some temporary workers.

Applicants who are at least 18 years old must have a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Those who are less than 18 years old must have a work permit.

On Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., MCS Recruitment, a staffing company, will be hiring about 80 workers for a wide variety of jobs.      

Those positions include accountants, carpenters, construction and warehouse workers, design engineers, electricians and helpers, fork-lift operators, strategic buyers, and welders. 

Also, the company is recruiting drivers with commercial drivers licenses (CDL), machinists with computer numeric controlled (CNC) certification, programmers with programmable logic controller (PLC) certification, and quality control inspectors and engineers.   

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma, or a General Education Diploma (GED), and at least one year of experience in the position they are applying for. Veterans are encouraged to apply. 

Depending on experience and type of job, salaries range from $12-$16 an hour for warehouse workers, drivers, and fork-lift operators to $60-$85,000 annually for design engineers.     

The companies will conduct background checks and drug-screening tests on selected applicants.
