Grand Festival Day Scheduled for February 7th

Grand Festival Day is Saturday, February 7, at the Savannah Civic Center. Presented by the City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs and Savannah State University, the 2015 festival theme is “Today’s Youth. Tomorrow’s Legacy.” The highlight of the annual Savannah Black Heritage Festival, Grand Festival Day includes an array of family-oriented activities ending with a star-studded concert.
8:30 a.m.: WALK GEORGIA
County and city officials, and youth groups will walk to Forsyth Park and back, and to promote a healthy Georgia and healthy Savannah. Sponsored by the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, Chatham County Cooperative Extension, WellCare of SE Georgia, St. Joseph’s/Candler African American Health Information and Resource Center, and COPE (Childhood Obesity and Prevention Education).To pre-register, call 912-652-7981 or go to www.ugaextension.com/chatham.
