Savannah State University to Host 64th Southern Regional Press Institute

Savannah State University will host its 64th annual Southern Regional Press Institute on February 19 and 20, 2015 on campus. The theme is “Stepping Up, Stepping Out: Entrepreneurial Media in a Digital World.” Onsite registration begins at 7:30 a.m., however attendees are encouraged to register in advance. Opening plenary session and breakout workshops will be held in the John F. Kennedy Fine Arts Building.
The annual event presents speakers and workshops to help high school and college students acquire skills in communications. Workshops in photography, writing for multiple platforms, news, magazine and feature writing, new media, copy-editing, headline writing, broadcasting, public relations, advertising, and newspaper layout and design are instructed by media professionals from across the nation.
