Abila announced today it has acquired Peach New Media, a leading provider and pioneer of online continuing education and online learning solutions. By adding Peach New Media’s innovative technology – Freestone learning platform – to Abila’s leading software and services portfolio, organizations now have access to industry-leading association and donor management, as well as continuing education software from one company.
“We believe this is an exciting announcement for our organization and the association and nonprofit market as a whole,” said Loretta Doon, CEO of CalCPA, who uses Abila netFORUM as their primary association management system, and Peach’s Freestone learning platform to provide value added education and certification programs to more than 40,000 members. “Both companies have a keen focus on continuing to innovate and improve their solutions. We look forward to growing with Abila.”
Added Krista Endsley, CEO of Abila, “The acquisition of Peach New Media is part of our overall strategy to be the best provider of software and services to associations, nonprofits and government entities. By adding the Freestone learning platform and the exceptional Peach talent, Abila strengthens its strong portfolio of products and services that help enhance engagement, add value, increase revenue, and improve decision-making.”
For more than a decade, Peach New Media has helped leading professional associations, educational content providers, nonprofits and businesses bring continuing professional education and training online. The company’s flagship product, Freestone™, is a learning platform that manages and distributes online continuing education using a sophisticated system designed to accommodate the unique needs of accredited content and learners who must maintain licenses and/or certification, particularly in legal, medical and other fields requiring mandatory credit.
“The real potential for professional development and continuing education is when learning isn’t siloed but pulls together content, community, and information in a meaningful way,” said Celisa Steele, co-founder and an association industry analyst at Tagoras. “Abila’s acquisition of Peach New Media, points to maturity and should lead to better products and service–because they’ll be born of a more inclusive, less siloed mindset.”
“We’re excited to be a part of the Abila family,” said Dave Will, co-founder and chief executive peach of Peach New Media. “Our mission and focus has always been on giving organizations the power to easily share knowledge, change society, and improve lives. Our core values are very much aligned with Abila’s core values, and we feel that together we are in a better position to help organizations take their member experience to new levels.”
