Visit Savannah, Savannah Sports Council, Visit Tybee Receive Top Tourism Marketing Awards

Visit Savannah, the Savannah Sports Council and Visit Tybee cumulatively won four awards in the Georgia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus’ Best Ideas Competition this week. The awards were voted on and announced at the GACVB Winter Conference in Valdosta, Ga., on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
"These top honors underscore the creativity and hard work being done by everyone on our Visit Savannah, Visit Tybee and Savannah Sports Council teams,” said Joseph Marinelli, Visit Savannah president. “Our entire staff takes great pride in having been recognized by our fellow state tourism leaders from around Georgia as being the best-of-the-best."
Visit Savannah won awards in the tourism promotion category for its 2014 holiday campaign and the cooperative marketing campaign category for its three-month campaign partnering with the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport; the Savannah Sports Council won an award in the sports marketing category for its marketing efforts surrounding the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon launch; and Visit Tybee won an award in the category for tourism promotion for its #TybeeLife summer photo contest.
The annual competition is designed to recognize creative excellence and effectiveness in tourism marketing, advertising, sales, promotional campaigns and management techniques at destination marketing organizations throughout Georgia.
