3D Printing Just Got A Whole Lot Easier for Savannah Locals
Press release from the issuing company
Thursday, April 9th, 2015
Local makerspace startup, Maven Makers, and technology solution provider, LSP Technologies Inc., are seeking to demystify 3D Printing through a Lunch and Learn that is open to the public on April 28, at 11:30-1 at Savannah Coffee Roasters, 215 W Liberty St.
3D printing has gained considerable traction in the last couple years. This is not because it is a new technology. It is due to the fact that it has bridged the gap between machines that previously only large companies could purchase, but now individuals can have that same technology in your home or office. LSP Technologies is a reseller of the consumer 3D printing brand, Makerbot, and they are teaming up with Maven Makers to teach how anyone can learn to do 3D modeling thanks to online, open-source apps and can produce functional 3D prints.
The attendees at the Lunch and Learn will be provided with a great lunch from Savannah Coffee Roasters that is included in the thirty-five dollar entry fee. The fee also includes an in-depth lesson on 3D printing: what it is, how it works, and how anyone can join in on the momentum of what has been deemed the third industrial revolution. This class is the beginning of a three class course that allows its attendees to learn the basics of 3D modeling an object from around the house or office, be able to print it, and use it. Just imagine designing your own mouse for your computer or making a new handle for that cabinet at work that has always been broken! Sign up today to start your next project for “3D Printing The Future”.
More information about the event can be found on either company’s facebook page and follow the link to event registration. For any further details please call LSP Technologies Inc. at (912) 480-4560. Parking can be found across the street from the event at the Savannah Civic Center or on the street directly in front.
