Yoga for Cancer Patients and Survivors
6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, and 12:45 p.m., Thursdays, FitnessOne, 3rd floor, Memorial Outpatient and Wellness Center, Memorial University Medical Center
These weekly yoga classes are free for cancer survivors and those in treatment. The classes help expand flexibility and balance while also providing relaxation. The instructor is Yoga Alliance registered with more than 200 hours of training, including specialized yoga training for cancer survivors at OM Yoga in New York. Prepared Childbirth Class, Wednesday Series
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays, April 8, 15, 22, and 29, Memorial University Medical Center
This course gives an overview of reproductive anatomy and physiology and explains the process of labor and delivery in simple, easy-to-understand terms. Basic Breastfeeding Class
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, Memorial University Medical Center
This two-hour session is designed to educate and support the mother planning to breastfeed. Topics include information on preparing to breastfeed, basic breastfeeding concepts, nutrition, and a discussion of common concerns. Issues such as family support for the breastfeeding mother, the father’s role in feeding, and how to breastfeed and continue to work are also covered. Your support person is encouraged to attend.
