Press release from the issuing company

Open for the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing PGA tournament, Choate Construction Company recently celebrated the completion of The Sea Pines Resort’s new Harbour Town Clubhouse, a stunning 55,000-SF facility constructed within an incredible timeline of less than 10 months in preparation for the annual tournament.

The fast-tracked Harbour Town Clubhouse, designed by Architect Grady Woods, was demolished and a larger facility completely rebuilt in the same location between tournament dates; a schedule many said was not feasible. Boasting nearly 20 miles of interior and exterior running trim, attention to detail and design was given to every inch of the Clubhouse. Most notable of details- the inspiring Hall of Champions, which prominently displays portraits of all the past tournament’s winners, paying homage to the tournament’s rich history, dating back to 1969.

“We can’t thank the team enough for the job they have done in exceeding our expectations in both quality of construction and delivering the Clubhouse ahead of the tight time schedule,” said Steve Birdwell, President of The Sea Pines Resort. “The Clubhouse is a monumental achievement for all involved. Before Choate, we had been told many times that the Clubhouse could not be built within our time schedule.  But we now know that it can.”

On March 6th, 2015, less than ten months later and ahead of schedule, the Certificate of Occupancy was granted for the larger, more luxurious, Harbour Town Clubhouse.  “The success of the new Harbour Town Clubhouse resulted solely due to exceptional execution by the entire Project Team and the unwavering commitment, dedication and hard work of the Subcontractor and Supplier trades,” noted Senior Vice President of Choate, Ben Bunyard. “Choate Construction Company is extremely honored to be a part of the continued successful growth of The Sea Pines Resort.”
