Envirovac, the Southeastern United States premier provider of industrial cleaning, environmental services and on-site maintenance support programs, was recently recertified as a Star site under the Voluntary Protection Program of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for the next five years. This top workplace recognition recognizes Envirovac’s commitment to employee health and safety and makes it the only OSHA Star certified industrial cleaning company operating in the Southeast.

“In our industry -- as well as our customers’ -- it is imperative that health and safety is priority number one,” said Kevin Jackson, CEO of Envirovac. “We’ve been able to keep our employees out of harm’s way by using state-of-the-art robotics and automation developed in our research and development facility. This new technology, not available in the past, was specifically recognized by OSHA for the advanced improvements it brought to our employees’ safety.”

The OSHA Star VPP is designed for exemplary worksites with comprehensive, successful safety and health management systems. Companies in the Star Program have achieved injury and illness rates below the national average of their respective industries. These sites are self-sufficient in their ability to control workplace hazards. Envirovac was the first industrial cleaning company to receive the Star designation in April of 2012.

Envirovac partners with many prestigious companies on its safety processes, including International Paper, Weyerhaeuser, Georgia Pacific, DuPont, BASF, Southern States, Interstate Paper, Rayonier Performance Fibers, Southern Company, Nucor Corporation, Caesarstone, Arizona Chemical, Hunt Refineries and SDI Still. Envirovac also assists its employees with their personal health and wellness by partnering with Seacrest Partners, a property-casualty insurance brokerage firm and employee benefits consultant.

“Seacrest Partners is pleased to partner with a company that has made a significant investment to health and safety and, in so doing, attained such an elite certification,” said David Paddison, president of Seacrest Partners. “Envirovac’s commitment to health and safety helps their customers and vendors become safer, too.”

“When I started Envirovac in 1999, it was my goal to make this the safest company possible with a focus on continuous improvement,” Jackson said. “Keeping and renewing the OSHA Star certification puts us in an elite group, and we could not have achieved it without our customers and employees being engaged in our mission statement.”
