Savannah Mall Bracing for Tanger Effects

As local shoppers gear up for the opening of Tanger Outlets and drivers prepare for the potential traffic frustrations, another group is preparing to take a hit – Savannah retailers.
Savannah Mall’s manager, Phil McConnell, said there’s nothing any retail business can do to prevent a dip in sales.
He said shoppers are going to go check the new outlets out. McConnell said its hard to compete with 86 stores in one spot.
