Savannah State University will host its annual Curtis V. Cooper Health Fair from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, in the atrium of the King-Frazier Student Center. The health fair, which is free and open to the public, will offer wellness information, free medical screenings and other services.

The annual event is sponsored by SSU’s Harris-McDew Student Health Center and co-sponsored by Savannah chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction Inc., and Curtis V. Cooper Primary Health Care, Inc.

First held in 1992 as the Harris-McDew Health Fair, the event was renamed in 2000 to honor the late Curtis Cooper. A long-time president of the Savannah chapter of the NAACP, Cooper was executive director of the Westside Comprehensive Health Center, later named the Westside-Urban Health Center, for 28 years.
