The Maritime Bethel at Savannah was recently presented with a $1,000 grant by Schneider Logistics’ Warehouse Advisory Committee. This is the first year for the WAC which is made up of employees working at Schneider Logistics’ Port Wentworth warehouse facility who assess applications and allocate a proportion of the company’s charitable funds.
Many of the committee members were able to meet with Andy Krey, Chaplain and Executive Director of the MBS, who received the check on behalf of his non-profit organization. The grant was given to support the important work of MBS which provides ‘far away from home’ personal and practical support to seafarers who come into Savannah port on big ships from all over the world.
Terrence McDuffie, Facility Manager at Schneider Logistics and Chairman of the WAC presented the check to Chaplain Krey and said “The WAC was very impressed with the amazing work of the MBS and appreciate your organization doing this much needed work to help the people who travel in and out of our port every day and who often get forgotten.”
