Wet Willie's, an award-winning national chain of daiquiri bars and full-service restaurants founded and headquartered in Savannah, Ga., is celebrating 25 years in business by raising money for area nonprofits throughout 2015.

To kick off the series of nonprofit fundraisers, a portion of all specialty item sales, including Wet Willie’s koozies and anniversary t-shirts, will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) throughout the month of April. A special fundraiser will also be held on April 17 & 18 at Wet Willie’s locations in Savannah at 101 E. River St. and 232 W. St. Julian St. and at the Tybee Island location at 16 Tybrisa St., with a portion of the proceeds benefiting LLS.

Founded in Savannah, Ga., Wet Willie’s opened its first location on River Street just in time for St. Patrick’s Day in 1990. Since then, Wet Willie’s has become renowned for serving the world’s greatest daiquiris and grown to over a dozen locations from Miami Beach to their newest location in The Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City. Additional locations are scheduled to open this year.

Over the years, Wet Willie’s has also become known for their charitable giving, having donated over $300,000 this past year, including $35,000 for breast cancer research and awareness through their annual Koozies for Boobies fundraiser in October.

“Charitable giving is not only part of our corporate makeup, it’s part of our team’s values,” said Emily Dickinson, vice president of Wet Willie’s Management Corp. “It’s an honor to be able to help those organizations helping the communities in which we do business. Our customers care about their community and are always more than generous when they know part of the sales will benefit someone else in need.

Additional fundraisers will be scheduled throughout the year. For more information, please visit www.wetwillies.com.
