Bethesda Academy, a successful day and boarding school for boys in grades 6 through 12, recently hosted The Rotary Club of Savannah on its campus for the club’s weekly meeting to learn more about Bethesda’s dynamic work-study programs and to honor the school’s impressive 275th anniversary celebration, which kicks off this month at Bethesda’s Scholarship Gala on May 15.
The Rotary Club of Savannah which recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary, began its longstanding support of Bethesda in 1917.
“We have a long history of working with Bethesda and supporting the incredible education they are providing to Savannah’s young men,” said Holden Hayes, president of The Rotary Club of Savannah. “As a civic organization with a strong business community membership, we are looking forward to continuing this tradition by building on our member relationships with the school and possible special Rotary Club initiatives.”
The Rotary’s recent meeting at Bethesda not only marked the historical connection between the two organizations, but highlighted the school’s evolution into the leading educational institution it is today. Bethesda students, who were also a part of the Rotary meeting, showcased several of their projects from the school’s work-study programs, which are an essential part of Bethesda’s college-preparatory curriculum specifically designed around the way boys learn most effectively.
Bethesda’s holistic learning environment blends technology, traditional classroom instruction and hands-on work-study opportunities (on and off-campus) to help instill principles of sound business development and management, financial literacy and authentic workplace experience.
