GDOL to Help Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Recruit Deputy Corrections Officers

The Georgia Department of Labor will host a recruitment to help the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office hire about 20 deputy corrections officers in Savannah.
The recruitment will be held Tuesday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the GDOL’s Savannah Career Center located at 5520 White Bluff Road.
Veterans are encouraged to apply. Salaries range from $31,105 to $33,175 annually, based on experience, as well as the number of years of military service by the applicants.
Applicants must be at least 20 years old, have a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED), a valid driver’s license and the ability to complete the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Counsel certification. Veterans should bring their U.S. Department of Defense DD214 form to the event.
A pre-employment background and motor vehicle record check, drug screening test and physical fitness test for selected applicants will be conducted by the employer.
