Hospice Savannah, Inc. has been named a 2015 Hospice Honors recipient by Deyta, an industry leader in data-driven management. Hospice Honors is a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of satisfaction as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.

This notable recognition is determined by using the Deyta Family Evaluation of Hospice Care (Deyta FEHC) survey results from approximately 1,700 partnering hospices contained in Deyta’s FEHC database with an evaluation period of October 2013 through September 2014. Deyta evaluated the hospices’ performance on a set of eighteen satisfaction indicator measures.

This is the second time that Hospice Savannah has achieved a Hospice Honors award. This year’s honor was particularly focused on the care provided at Hospice House, the hospice’s 28-bed in-patient facility located at 1352 Eisenhower Drive in Savannah.  The Hospice House’s west wing is utilized by Hospice Savannah patients as an alternative to a hospital-stay (Medicare hospice benefit); for respite care (Medicare hospice benefit) or for short-term transitional stays (sliding-scale fee applies).  As of 2015, Hospice Savannah patients can choose to live on the east wing as “residential patients” paying a room and board fee.

Hospice Savannah’s President/CEO Debra Anthony Larson, Board chair Bruce Barragan and Chief Clinical Officer Monica Anderson were presented with the award at the National Hospice and Palliative Care conference on April 30, 2015 in Alexandria, VA. Ms. Larson says, “I am delighted that the quality work we do is again being recognized on the national stage.  Healthcare consumers need to know that not all hospices offer the same level of patient care and expertise, or the same scope of services.  This award, combined with being the only Joint Commission-accredited hospice in the Coastal Empire, serves as evidence-based proof of Hospice Savannah’s dedication to superior hospice care.”
