Melanie Simón Joins Armstrong State University as Public Relations Manager

Armstrong State University recently hired Melanie Simón as the new public relations manager. In her new position, she is responsible for strategy and execution of all public relations initiatives at Armstrong.

Simón brings a wealth of PR strategy and media relations experience to her current position. She began her career with Tina Brown’s Talk Magazine/Miramax Books and later returned home to Savannah. 

Over the last 15 years, Simón has worked with a host of local and regional clients, including the Savannah Economic Development Authority and the Savannah Development and Renewal Authority, among many others. She also served as the travel editor for South magazine and is an accomplished writer. Simón’s first book, a memoir about her time in Cuba, is slated for publication in Spring 2016.

Simón earned a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia. She currently resides in Savannah.
