The United Way of Coastal Georgia received a $5,000 donation from Crestbrook Insurance Company, an affluent market personal lines carrier from Nationwide Insurance based in Scottsdale, Ariz. The money will aid the local United Way in creating a community where all individuals and families have the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential through education, income stability and health.
“We are committed to giving back to the communities where our agents and clients work and live,” said Jim Pedersen, president, Crestbrook. “This belief is woven into the fabric of Crestbrook, and it is a value we share with our parent company, Nationwide.”
The donation was made in honor of Crestbrook's top-producing independent agents of 2014, who were in Sea Island, Georgia April 15-19 for an annual recognition event. Crestbrook has requested that the money be directed to Safe Harbor Children’s Center, a United Way partner agency that provides support for children in challenging situations.
“Safe Harbor’s strategies have proven positive outcomes to individuals seeking our assistance and to our community. The agency consistently operates in a spirit of collaboration," says Jane Lafferty, United Way of Coastal Georgia interim president and CEO. "Their services cross many sectors of our community to include the arts community, schools, governmental agencies and other nonprofits."
Crestbrook's charitable giving endeavors extend beyond this annual event. Partners in Giving, the company's corporate giving program, offers independent agents appointed with Crestbrook an opportunity to make a difference in their communities through donations allocated by the program.
