Tuesday, June 16th, 2015

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is hosting a Walk Team Rally party on Thursday, June 18 to kick off their annual walk season. In 2014, the event had over 600 participants and raised over $78,000 for the Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

“We invite anyone who is interested in learning more about our event and starting a team for our Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team Rally, says Danielle Graves, Co-chair of the Savannah Walk. “The more teams we have the more money we can raise. While this is an exciting and fun event for all ages, these much needed funds will help the hundreds of thousands of Georgians suffering from Alzheimer’s disease”.

Currently 5.4 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease kills more people than prostate and breast cancer combined. The Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter serves more than 130,000 Georgians living with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. With seven offices statewide, the Georgia Chapter provides vital education, support and services in all of Georgia’s 159 counties.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Savannah Team Rally is June 18 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the B and D Burgers Downtown. Event will feature live music, corn hole, raffle prizes and karaoke. Bring a family member, friend or co-worker and learn how to form a team, raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This will be an evening to meet other Walk teams and participants, enjoy food, drinks and entertainment. This is a family event.
