The Next Generation raised more than $81,000 with its second Summer Soirée. The funds are earmarked toward their five-year effort to purchase a $275,000 neonatal intensive care ambulance for The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. The fundraising gala was held June 9 to raise funds for The Next Generation’s Angel Wings campaign.

“The success of Summer Soiree allows the Next Generation to make a significant contribution towards acquiring a new neonatal transport ambulance for The Children’s Hospital at Memorial Health University Medical Center,” says Neilie Dunn, president of The Next Generation. “We are so appreciative of the community’s support and the difference it will make in many lives throughout our region.”

As the only level 3 neonatal intensive care nursery in the region, The Children’s Hospital treats premature infants and other seriously ill newborns throughout southeast Georgia and neighboring South Carolina counties.

The Next Generation expressed appreciation to the event’s premier sponsors, Ameris Bank and Rives E. Worrell, a J.E. Dunn Construction Company and their Gold media sponsors, the Savannah Morning News and Savannah Magazine.
