The Savannah Sports Council announced today that registration for the 2016 Publix Savannah Women’s Half & 5K is now open. The event will take place Saturday, April 2, 2016. 

“After a great first year, we are excited to bring the event back and build on its success. The Sports Council wants to make the Publix Savannah Women’s Half and 5K one of the top women’s race events in the country,” said Ben Wilder, Savannah Sports Council director.

The route, with start and finish lines located in Forsyth Park, takes runners through 12 of Savannah’s squares and down live oak-lined streets in Savannah’s Historic District and Daffin Park. A Fashion Fitness Expo will be held the day before the race from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hilton Savannah DeSoto for packet pick-up, shopping and entertainment.

Registration fees start at $65 for the half marathon and $25 for the 5K.

The half marathon and 5K will again partner with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise money and train runners through its Team in Training program. Registration is open now.
