Senior Citizens, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for area seniors, recently hired Valerie Blount as a care advisor.

In this position, Blount is responsible for assisting anyone with questions regarding more information about SCI, meeting with older adults to provide information, and handling suspected cases of elder abuse, neglect or financial exploitation.

Prior to joining SCI, Blount worked for Lutheran Services, an organization focused on aiding those in need of financial support, mental and spiritual counseling, and aid at the personal or family level. She received her Bachelor’s of Social Work from Savannah State University and currently resides in Savannah, Ga.
