Podell comes to The DeSoto as its Sotherly Host with an extensive hospitality and culinary background. From a small town in Indiana, much like Savannah, Podell’s career led him to the Hostess City of the South where he most recently served in broad capacity as the general manager of a leading, historic bed & breakfast in downtown Savannah. During his tenure, he oversaw the complete guest experience from the moment visitors walked through the doors until seeing them off at the end of their visit.

“I really found a passion for providing the ultimate guest experience,” said Podell. “Every guest I welcome is my priority. From the time they arrive, my mission is to help them start exploring right away.
