Cora Bett Thomas Realty recently held the inaugural event for their Cheers For Charity effort on Thursday, June 22, at In Vino Veritas. Attendees were able to select a charity for the evening’s proceeds and Emmaus House was the beneficiary, chosen at the end of the event from all of those submitted.

“The idea behind Cheers For Charity gives us an opportunity to gather friends and neighbors together in an enjoyable setting to support a cause important to our community,” said Cora Bett Thomas, CEO and founder of Cora Bett Thomas Realty. “We were pleased to be able to support the Emmaus House, a most worthwhile local cause.”

Emmaus House collaborates with Savannah’s faith-based community to provide healthy meals and other assistance for the homeless and near-homeless. Founded in 1982, Emmaus House serves food Monday through Friday 50 weeks each year from the Parish House of Christ Church Episcopal.

At the June 22 event, local disc jockey, Obi-1-Benobi, donated his time and expertise to provide the music and jewelry donated by Kendra Scott on Broughton. The next Cheers for Charity event will be held in early 2018.
