Savannah Eliminates Bar Card Requirement, Leaves Businesses Responsible for Alcohol Training

Savannah’s servers and bartenders will not be required to obtain background checks or permits known as “bar cards” to serve alcohol at local establishments, following adoption of a revised city ordinance last week that leaves business owners responsible for ensuring their employees are properly trained and vetted.
