Georgia Tech-Savannah & CEMA Team Up to Host Virtual Hurricane Conference With Timely Focus on How to Prepare During a Pandemic

Georgia Tech-Savannah and the Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) have partnered together to host a virtual Hurricane Preparedness Conference on July 30, 2020. In light of recent events, instruction will be focused on how to plan for a hurricane during a pandemic. Registration is now open for the one day digital conference.
The upcoming conference will provide timely information and updates for hurricane preparedness in unprecedented circumstances. There will be a unique mix of expertise leading the instruction; from local, state and federal agencies to leading university researchers. Because of this, it is intended for a broad audience. Public officials, planners, emergency managers, public health, transportation and private industry representatives who live and work in vulnerable communities across the United States are all invited to register and attend virtually.
The program will cover a variety of topics including preparation and planning, volunteer organizations, community outreach, and response and recovery. Georgia Tech-Savannah’s virtual conference will run from from 8:30a until 5p, with breaks throughout. The cost of the online conference is $50.
