JE Dunn Construction Tasked to Renovate Savannah Youth Treatment Center it Built Nearly 35 Years Ago
Monday, June 22nd, 2020
JE Dunn Construction has begun a major renovation of Coastal Harbor Treatment Center (CHTC) in Savannah, which provides mental health services and programs for adolescents.
Coastal Harbor serves children and adolescents ages 4-17 with short- and long-term inpatient care, helping them cope with crisis situations or ongoing behavioral mental or emotional difficulties.
The $7.1 million project will cover 68,000 square feet of renovations and upgrades to CHTC, which JE Dunn built in 1985. The scope of work includes replacing the building’s skin with new stucco and new hurricane resistant windows to meet Universal Health Services (UHS) standards, upgrading 65 patient bathrooms to meet new ligature resistant codes as well as ADA codes. Within this renovation there will be improvements including new human impact windows and a new HVAC system for each patient wing.
WM2A Architects is the project’s architect of record.
