Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI), a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for area seniors, is seeking donations for its “Fans for Seniors” drive. Members of the community who would like to donate may give online at www.seniorcitizensinc.org/give. In the interest of health and safety, physical donations cannot be accepted at this time. 

“Between more older adults staying at home because of COVID and the ongoing heatwave, we have had an increased demand from our community for fans,” said Patti Lyons, president and CEO, SCI. “While a fan may be a small donation for many of us, it makes a huge difference in the lives of our seniors.” 

To qualify for a fan, seniors must be 65 years or older and have a low income. Due to COVID-19 concerns, qualifying seniors must call SCI’s office at 912-236-0363 to fill out paperwork over the phone and make an appointment to pick up a fan. Fans will be distributed on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1 and 3 p.m. Please note that SCI’s building remains closed to the public.
