Jennifer Roach Joins Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity’s Board of Directors

Thomas & Hutton congratulates Jennifer Roach, PE, CFM on being appointed to the 2020-2023 Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity’s Board of Directors. Roach began volunteering with the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity in 2018 and is active with its annual Women Build program.
Coastal Empire Habitat was founded in 1983 and is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. They work towards the organization’s collective vision of a society where everyone has a decent place to call home. As a member of the Board of Directors, she will help oversee the Coastal Empire Habitat’s efforts to build homes and communities by partnering with low-income, working families to provide them with affordable and energy-efficient homes in safe and revived neighborhoods throughout Chatham County, Georgia.
Roach is a Water Resources Department Project Manager in Thomas & Hutton’s Savannah region. Joining Thomas & Hutton in 2006, she has nearly 14 years of experience in planning, designing, and permitting water resources-related projects. Most recently, Roach was involved in Thomas & Hutton’s climate resilience initiatives to better protect our community infrastructure against climate change threats. A licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Floodplain Manager, she received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition to her positions with Coastal Empire Habitat, Roach is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Floodplain Managers, Georgia Association of Floodplain Managers, Society of Women Engineers, and Chatham Commerce Club. She also coordinates Thomas & Hutton’s Explorer Post Program with Boy Scouts of Coastal Georgia and Savannah Chatham County Public Schools, which facilitates opportunities for high school students to explore careers related to their engineering field of interest.
