The Bluff Hotel Historic Savannah, a boutique hotel with a unique history dating back to 1733, has opened in Historic Downtown Savannah at 630 West Bay Street. The Bluff Hotel is situated on the same land where Chief Tomochichi, head of the Yamacraw tribe, gave General James Edward Oglethorpe permission to establish the City of Savannah.

In recent years, 630 West Bay Street was the site of the Comfort Suites. That has now changed. “We have transformed the site of the Comfort Suites into a boutique & lifestyle hotel, The Bluff Hotel,” Kal Patel, president, Image Hotels, said. “The Bluff Hotel is where authentic Savannah history meets modern hospitality. We have worked hard to transform the former building and now our studios and guest rooms are larger than most hotels in the historic area.”  Patel added that it is an Ascend Collection Boutique hotel.

“We have honored the City’s roots through historical and locally-inspired touches,” Patel said. “It’s exciting to know that The Bluff Hotel sits on the historic Yamacraw Bluff, where General Oglethorpe and British colonists landed. More importantly, on this site is where General Oglethorpe and Chief Tomochichi established a peaceful alliance and ratified the historic Creek Indian Treaty of 1733. The treaty allowed General Oglethorpe, later Governor Oglethorpe, to settle the colony of Savannah which is now one of the most historic cities in the United States.

The Bluff Hotel has ADA Accessible studios.
