From heart to strength. Julie Wade said that public schools are the heart of the community. Her successor believes schools are the strength of the community.
Residents of Savannah-Chatham County Public School System District 1 are getting a new voice on the school board who promises to be as strong an advocate for them and their children, as Wade had a reputation for in her 10-year career. Denise Grabowski will be sworn in on Wednesday to replace Wade, who announced her retirement in November 2019. Grabowski defeated Jonathon Jones for the open seat in the June 2020 election.
