Georgia Southern Hosts Acclaimed Author, Professor and Hip-hop Scholar on March 4

Bradley, a Harvard University Nasir Jones Hiphop Fellow alumna and assistant professor of English and African Diaspora Studies at Kennesaw State University, will discuss her 2021 book, Chronicling Stankonia: The Rise of the Hip-Hop South, which explores how Atlanta, Georgia, hip-hop duo OutKast influences the culture of the Black American South in the long shadow of the Civil Rights Movement.
Bradley’s expertise and research interests, which include post-Civil Rights African American literature, hip-hop culture, race and the contemporary U.S. South, and sound studies, have been featured on NPR and in USA Today and The Washington Post, among other outlets.
